Artist Statement

"Worlds within worlds".  That world may be dark and gloomy or it may be light and fresh as it reflects the natural rhythm of life. It will either be an emotional response to something that I have experienced or it may reflect a collective mood that hangs in the air.

hinting at our own mortality.  I believe we are all responsible for our personal discriminations and our ruthless treatment of the planet.

I continue to inquire. Is the process flowing smoothly or do I need to change or improve the conversation between the elements of the piece: the color, the shapes, the lines, the texture?  There is scratching and excavating  as I search for what has been buried.

In my paintings there is wounding and healing, hope and despair, the beautiful and the ugly.
